This February marks the 40th anniversary of Wendy’s iconic “Where’s the Beef?” commercial that originally aired during the Super Bowl in 1984. To celebrate, the fast food chain is offering free hamburgers and more great deals for football fans this year.

Until February 12th, customers can get a free Dave’s Single with any purchase made through the Wendy’s app. This fan favorite burger features a quarter-pound beef patty topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, ketchup and mayonnaise on a toasted bun. To take advantage of the deal, simply find the offer under the “Offers” tab in the app.

In addition to the free burger, Wendy’s is providing free delivery for all mobile app orders placed during the Super Bowl broadcast on February 12th. The chain aims to bring some convenience to football fans enjoying the big game from home this year.

These deals commemorate the 40th anniversary of Wendy’s famous “Where’s the Beef?” commercial that originally aired during the 1984 Super Bowl. The humorous ad featured a feisty elderly lady inspecting an extraordinarily small hamburger from a fictional competitor and shouting the now iconic phrase, “Where’s the Beef?” The catchy slogan became a sensation and remains one of the most memorable ads in Super Bowl history.

To join in celebrating this milestone, fans can purchase throwback t-shirts with designs inspired by the classic commercial from Homage, an Ohio-based apparel company. The retro collection features six unique “Where’s the Beef?” shirt options, each priced at $32.

A wholesome 90% of the proceeds will be donated to the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

While honoring its legacy, Wendy’s hasn’t forgotten about moving forward. The chain recently expanded its breakfast menu with the new breakfast burrito. This hearty morning meal features eggs, bacon, potatoes, and cheese wrapped in a warm tortilla. Two Cholula hot sauce packets add a touch of heat. The burritos are now available at over 4,500 Wendy’s locations nationwide.
