The Spanish midfielder came on in the 64th minute against Tottenham after seven months out. He prepared his return with three games playing with the reserve team

Stefan Bajcetic (Vigo, 2004) has had a 2023-24 season to forget after his explosion last season. The footballer is very much to Klopp’s liking, but injuries have plagued him this season. He was barely able to play two games with the first team before starting with some strange discomfort at the end of September . This Sunday, against Tottenham, he returned to play after coming off in the 64th minute after 221 days.

The versatile Spanish footballer returned to play as a midfielder. The match seemed 4-0, but little by little Tottenham got closer on the scoreboard and had to play some very intense minutes . Klopp’s men managed to solve the game (4-2) and Bajcetic was picking up the pace. Until this game, he had already played three with the reserve team after his injury.

The impact he made last season (he even started against Madrid in the Champions League round of 16) sparked the enthusiasm of the Reds and Spanish fans for the future of this boy. It reminded many of Busquets’ first steps. Last September he debuted with the Spanish U-21 team and could go to the Paris Olympic Games with the U-23 team . To do this, it will be important for him to continue getting minutes and regaining form in these last games of the season.

“It’s good to return to the path of victory, and it’s always good to step onto the field after so much time, so yes, a happy day!” said the Spaniard after his ‘debut’ with Liverpool. ” A lot of time has passed. It’s good to be back. I still need to improve a lot, I still need to get my rhythm back and hopefully keep playing . It was good management on the part of the club and me to play a little with the U-21 team to get up to speed. Now I am ready to take a step forward,” Bajcetic set no limits in this final stretch of the season.
