Throughout her collegiate tenure, Wilson amassed numerous awards and led her team to their inaugural national title.
A formidable player, Wilson clinched multiple Player of the Year honors in her senior year. Her dominance carried over to the WNBA, where she earned the MVP title.
The statue unveiling attracted accolades from sports icons like LeBron James, Dawn Staley, and entities such as the SEC and the WNBA.
“That’s so 🔥 @_ajawilson22!!” James posted on X. “Congrats”
Wilson replied: “Appreciate it!”
WNBA Brilliance
Days later, the Los Angeles Lakers star highlighted Wilson’s achievements on his Instagram stories, celebrating her being named KIA Western Conference Player of the Month for May 2024.
Her exceptional performance has propelled the Aces to a 4-2 record, with impressive averages of 26.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 2.83 blocks per game.
Wilson made history by scoring at least 20 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in each of her first five games, setting a new WNBA record for consecutive 20-10 games.
Despite her dominant presence in the WNBA, Wilson is on a quest to clinch her first championship with the Las Vegas Aces this year, bolstered by the return of standout players Kelsey Plum and Liz Cambage.
