In a game that could only be described as electrifying, the Indiana Fever, fueled by the dazzling performances of Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark, clinched an 81-74 victory over the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday. The sold-out Target Center in Minneapolis bore witness to an evening of sheer basketball magic and a whole lot of Fever.

Boston was an absolute beast on the court, notching her ninth double-double of the season with a monstrous 17 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. Oh, and did we mention the four blocks? It was as if she had a personal vendetta against the Lynx’s basket. Meanwhile, Clark wasn’t about to let Boston have all the fun. She matched Boston’s 17 points, dished out six assists, snagged three rebounds, and swiped two steals, reminding everyone why she’s climbing the WNBA’s all-time rookie assists list faster than a caffeinated squirrel.

The Fever’s fourth-quarter clinic was nothing short of a masterclass in clutch play. Outscoring the Lynx 28-14, Clark either scored or assisted on the first 14 points of the final frame. It was like she had a remote control for the game, hitting fast-forward on her highlight reel. The victory marked Indiana’s second straight win, boosting their record to 6-4 over the last ten games and landing them in the seventh spot in the WNBA standings, just a hop, skip, and a jump behind the Phoenix Mercury.

Post-game, Clark gave a nod to her squad’s “resiliency.” “Even when we get down and things don’t go our way, we still find a way to win. And I think we’ve won every game where we’ve held our opponents to under 84 points, so 74 is really good for us,” she said, probably with a grin as big as her stat line. The 22-year-old guard added, “Especially in that fourth quarter. Like, we played really good defense, we were switching, we were communicating. But I think you can start to tell we’re just getting more comfortable overall playing with each other, our chemistry. We know where our teammates are going to be and then also just setting our teammates up for success – like put them in a position they can be successful in and I think we’ve done a better job at that.”

Kelsey Mitchell wasn’t about to miss out on the fun, either. She racked up a game-high 21 points, her seventh 20+ point game of the season, tying Leilani Mitchell for 18th on the WNBA’s all-time three-point list. It’s safe to say the Fever had their own version of the Fantastic Four, with Mitchell, Clark, Boston, and NaLyssa Smith all scoring in double figures for the second game running.

On the flip side, the Lynx had their moments too, with forward Alanna Smith leading the charge with 18 points. She was one of five Minnesota players to hit double figures, but it just wasn’t enough to douse the Fever’s flames.

Next up, the Fever will take on the Dallas Wings on Wednesday, while the Lynx will try to bounce back against the Atlanta Dream the same day. Until then, fans can bask in the afterglow of a game that showcased the very best of WNBA talent and left us all eagerly anticipating the next chapter.
