Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, found himself at the center of a social media storm after being spotted partying with bikini-clad girls in Las Vegas. The Indiana Fever star’s beau, celebrating his 25th birthday, learned the hard way that “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” is more of a quaint notion in the age of digital surveillance.
Connor’s birthday bash at the Encore Beach Club on July 13 turned into an unexpected spectacle, courtesy of comedian Theo Von, who captured and shared the revelry online. The video, featuring scantily clad girls holding up signs with McCaffery’s name, quickly went viral, much to the chagrin of Clark’s ardent fanbase.
The reaction was swift and unforgiving. One fan took to X.com (formerly Twitter) with a stern message: “Get him away from CC this instant she deserves better.” Another chimed in, “That’s not what my queen deserves.” Ouch.
This brouhaha comes hot on the heels of Clark’s heartfelt birthday tribute to McCaffery, where she gushed about his selflessness and love. “Happy Birthday Con,” she posted on Instagram alongside a photo of the pair. “Celebrating you is easy. Thankful to have someone as selfless and as loving as you in my life. May this be the year you finally find a way to outshoot me. Love you always.”
For those following the Fever, their next game is against the Dallas Wings at the College Park Center in Arlington on Wednesday, July 17, at 19:30 ET/16:30 PT. Riding a two-game winning streak, the Fever will aim to keep the momentum going against the bottom-ranked Wings, who are struggling with a .208 record in the WNBA’s Western Conference.
Stay tuned for more drama, on and off the court!
