In a momentous return to her Iowa stomping grounds, Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever’s celebrated rookie, is living her best offseason life. From receiving her Big Ten and Final Four rings to reconnecting with her former Hawkeyes teammates, Clark has been lapping up the nostalgia. But amidst the cheers, one Fever teammate might not be feeling the love: Lexie Hull.

As the Ringer WNBA Show’s host Seerat Sohi unpacked Clark’s Midwest homecoming plans, the conversation took a Swift turn – toward Clark’s obsession with Taylor Swift. Sohi quipped about whether Hull would manage to snag a ticket to Swift’s sold-out concert, but Hull, in her best singsong tone, didn’t sound too optimistic. “I’ll be back in Indy… I know she [Clark] has some tickets, so I’ll see if she can slide one my way,” Hull mused. Translation? Lexie might have to wait in line like the rest of the Swifties if she wants a seat.

Clark, who’s made no secret of her Swift fandom, has shown she’s unafraid to stir up some controversy. (Case in point: her “like” on a Swift post that sparked some political fireworks.) With Swift closing out her U.S. tour, it’s hardly a shock that Clark has tickets, and if social media is any indicator, Clark could be front-row all weekend – with or without Hull.

But the juiciest twist? The Ringer’s hosts couldn’t help but dive into the “feeling 22” rabbit hole, linking Swift’s iconic “22” to Clark’s own obsession with the number. The Fever star has sported the number 22 on her jersey from Iowa to Indiana, and her birth date? January 22, 2002 – coincidence, or cosmic alignment?

The feverish numerology doesn’t end there. The WNBA community is speculating that new Fever coach Stephanie White, who also rocked 22, might bring even more “22” energy into Clark’s orbit. “The storylines are just two perfect there for that marriage,” quipped sports commentator Scott Agness, sealing the narrative.

So, what’s next for Clark? Whether she’s belting out “22” at Swift’s concert or reuniting with her teammates, it’s clear the offseason holds some drama, fun, and (hopefully) a ticket for Lexie Hull.
