Chicago Sky rookie sensation Angel Reese can work the court, but according to famed fashion stylist Law Roach, she’s got some homework to do when it comes to her pre-game wardrobe. On the latest episode of her weekly show Unapologetically Angel, Reese—known for grabbing rebounds and attention with her bold tunnel looks—brought in Roach for a little fashion critique. And, well, let’s just say he didn’t hold back.
Roach, who’s dressed everyone from Zendaya to Celine Dion, was all smiles—until Reese asked what he thought of her outfits. At that point, things took a turn, and Roach politely unleashed his inner fashion savage.
“I just—I want to see you in more clothes,” Roach deadpanned, leaving viewers blinking at their screens. He wasn’t done. “I understand you’re tall, you want to show your legs, that’s what you love about yourself, but I want to see you in more clothes, if that makes sense.”
More clothes? For Angel Reese, who’s been serving legs and luxury on a silver platter all season long? She might as well have asked LeBron to take fewer shots.
But Roach wasn’t saying it out of spite—he was on a mission to help the WNBA star level up her fashion game. And let’s face it, if anyone can do that, it’s him. His track record of turning style-challenged celebs into runway icons speaks for itself.
To soften the blow (and possibly dodge a mean mug from Reese), Roach elaborated on how he would “help” Angel if they ever worked together. His method? A whole lot of trial and error.
“This is my process,” Roach said. “If I had a fitting with you, I would have racks and racks of clothes. I’d ask you to go through and tell me what you love, and then what you absolutely hate. And then from there, we build.”
Translation: we’re going to Marie Kondo your wardrobe and turn you into the WNBA’s version of Anna Wintour—but without the sunglasses.
Reese, who finished runner-up for the 2024 Rookie of the Year award (but definitely won Best Dressed in her own book), took Roach’s criticism like a champ. After all, this is a woman who’s not afraid of setting big goals. In October, she attended the 2024 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York and immediately set her sights on walking that very runway one day.
“I’m going to walk in a VS Fashion Show! Mark my words,” she boldly declared in an Instagram story, serving notice to models everywhere that the 6’3” basketball star is coming for their crowns—and their wings.
Sure, it’s a lofty dream. But if anyone can dunk their way into the world’s most iconic fashion event, it’s Angel Reese. With Roach’s style advice in her pocket (and maybe a few extra layers), she’s one step closer to adding “runway queen” to her already impressive résumé.
