Cue the cameras, Caitlin Clark’s off-season is in full swing, and her courtside game is just as strong as her three-pointers.
The WNBA Rookie of the Year, Caitlin Clark, was spotted taking a break from her meteoric rise on the basketball court by making an appearance at the Indiana Pacers vs. New York Knicks game on Sunday. And because no great player is ever truly alone, she had her ever-supportive boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, right by her side. But let’s be honest, folks—he’s probably still trying to figure out how he landed the human highlight reel that is Caitlin Clark.
Third Quarter Cameo: Wave to the People, Queen
As the Pacers and Knicks were duking it out on the hardwood, the real star of the night showed up on the Jumbotron in the third quarter. Clark, seated courtside with McCaffery, got a well-deserved round of applause from the crowd as she gave them a wave like royalty gracing her subjects. The cheers? Let’s just say they were louder than Knicks fans anytime Julius Randle misses a free throw.
McCaffery, who works as an assistant coach at Butler, must have been basking in the glow of Clark’s popularity, but let’s not kid ourselves—everyone was there for Caitlin. After all, you don’t get to be Rookie of the Year by sitting quietly on the sidelines. This woman practically willed the Indiana Fever to the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Sure, they got swept by the Connecticut Sun, but hey, progress is progress!
Golf Instead of Offseason Netflix Binges
And because Clark is allergic to taking it easy (probably), she’s spending her offseason playing golf. Yep, basketball’s reigning queen is now teeing up to show off her skills at The Annika, an LPGA pro-am tournament. Naturally, she’s not just showing up to whack a few balls around—she’s playing with none other than world No. 1 Nelly Korda and host Annika Sorenstam. You know, just another day for Caitlin.
Before she swings for the greens, Clark will be at the Women’s Leadership Summit on Nov. 12, where she’ll likely inspire everyone in the room by simply existing. She’s been preparing for the event with former LPGA player Martha Foyer-Faulconer in Carmel, Indiana. Who knows—maybe McCaffery was her caddy. Just speculating!
Pacers Outpace Knicks: Haliburton’s Masterclass
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers decided they’d put on a basketball clinic while Clark and McCaffery were enjoying the action. Tyrese Haliburton was on fire, dropping 35 points and dishing out 14 assists. Not to be outdone, Bennedict Mathurin exploded for 38 points. It was like watching the Pacers play a video game on cheat mode, with Myles Turner adding 26 points, six rebounds, and two blocks just to keep things spicy.
Jalen Brunson tried to keep the Knicks in the game with 33 points and 10 assists, but it was basically like putting a Band-Aid on a broken leg. Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 30 points and nine rebounds, and OG Anunoby chipped in with 25 points, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Knicks from falling to a disappointing 4-5 record. For a team with sky-high expectations, they’re landing somewhere around meh territory right now.
So, whether she’s sinking threes on the basketball court or sinking putts on the golf course, Caitlin Clark continues to be the main event. As for Connor McCaffery, he’s just enjoying the ride—and honestly, who wouldn’t be?
