Connecticut Sun’s rising star, DiJonai Carrington, has something new to jam to in the offseason, courtesy of none other than Kim Kardashian. Yes, you heard that right—the Kim K. Not satisfied with just breaking the internet, Kardashian has now infiltrated the WNBA with her SKIMS empire and a sleek collaboration with Beats by Dre. And it seems Carrington is one of the lucky recipients of Kardashian’s stylish generosity.
In a recent Instagram story, Carrington flexed her latest score—a Beats X Kim Beats Pill speaker. Because, you know, after dominating the court and winning the WNBA’s Most Improved Player award, nothing says “recovery time” quite like vibing to some music on a designer speaker gifted by one of the most famous women on the planet. If that doesn’t scream, “I made it,” what does?
The package also included a heartfelt note from Kardashian herself—okay, maybe not exactly “heartfelt,” but it’s the thought that counts, right? In true Kardashian fashion, the note was short, sweet, and to the point:
“Hi! I’m so happy to share my new Beats Pill with you. It’s designed to look and sound incredible anywhere you take your music. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.”
Translation: “This speaker is lit. You’re welcome.”
But this isn’t the first time Carrington and Kardashian have crossed paths. Earlier this year, the WNBA star appeared in an ad campaign for Kardashian’s wildly successful shapewear brand, SKIMS. Because why settle for just dropping dimes on the court when you can also drop jaws modeling some nude-toned undies? Carrington was joined by fellow WNBA icons like Candace Parker, Skylar Diggins-Smith, and Kelsey Plum, all rocking the SKIMS Fits Everybody collection with the same finesse they bring to their jump shots.
Reflecting on her SKIMS debut, Carrington gushed, “I absolutely love SKIMS, and I’m thrilled to be part of this campaign.” Of course, it probably doesn’t hurt that wearing SKIMS is as soft and luxurious as dropping a three-pointer in crunch time. “From post-game to travel days and beyond, SKIMS is the perfect brand for me,” she added, because when you’re on the road in the WNBA, comfort is a slam dunk.
Carrington’s standout season saw her posting career-best averages of 12.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game, leading the Sun to a solid playoff run. They even knocked out Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever in the opening round. But, alas, the fairytale ended in the semifinals when the Minnesota Lynx took them down in a grueling five-game series. No hard feelings, though—Carrington’s got her Beats Pill to keep her company now.
So, while the Sun may have set on her playoff dreams, at least Carrington can kick back, relax, and enjoy some tunes on the world’s chicest speaker. And who knows? Maybe this Kim K connection is just the start of an off-court empire for Carrington.
Either way, one thing’s for sure—whether she’s on the court or unboxing Kardashian-approved goodies, DiJonai Carrington is living her best life.
