Music superstar Usher is officially off the market after tying the knot with his longtime girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea on Sunday, February 11, 2024 in Las Vegas.

The “Yeah!” singer and Goicoechea obtained a marriage license from the Clark County clerk’s office on February 8th, just three days before Usher took the stage for the halftime show at Super Bowl LVIII. Their nuptials were confirmed by Usher’s team in a statement provided to media outlets on Tuesday.

“We can confirm that USHER and Jennifer Goicoechea took the next step in their relationship and did get married on Sunday night in Las Vegas surrounded by close friends and family,” the statement read. “They both look forward to continuing to raise their children together surrounded by love and thank everyone for the well wishes.”

Usher, whose full name is Usher Raymond IV, and Goicoechea have been romantically linked since 2019 when they were photographed sharing a kiss at the Hollywood Bowl. Their relationship moved quickly, with the couple welcoming their first child together, daughter Sovereign Bo, in September 2020. Son Sire Castrello arrived in September 2021.

For Usher, this marks his second marriage. The R&B icon was previously married to Tameka Foster, with whom he shares two sons – Usher Raymond V, 16, and Naviyd Ely, 15. Usher and Foster divorced in 2009 after two years of marriage.

Usher’s road to the altar with Goicoechea has not been without challenges. In an interview last November, he opened up about the difficulties of blending a family. “It’s hard when you’re juggling being an entrepreneur, a superstar, and a dad,” he told People magazine.

However, Usher made it clear that Goicoechea has been an invaluable partner in helping him navigate his responsibilities. “I’m very happy, very fortunate to have an incredible friend, not just a partner,” he gushed. “She’s my best friend and I love her.”

The two originally met back in 2009 when Goicoechea was working as an executive at Epic Records. They reconnected years later at a Brooklyn art show and their romance blossomed from there.

Close friends have said that Usher and Goicoechea’s relationship represented a major shift for the serial dater, known for playing the field. “He’s really met his match with Jenn,” an insider revealed.

With two young kids at home, Usher appears to be embracing his role as a family man. The spur-of-the-moment Las Vegas wedding speaks to his spontaneous side, but friends say he has never been more grounded.

“This is the healthiest and happiest Usher has been in a relationship in a long time,” the source noted.

Usher’s longstanding career in music has earned him multiple accolades, including eight Grammy Awards. He first rose to prominence as a teenager when he released his smash hit album “My Way” in 1997.

Now 44, the R&B icon has sold over 23 million albums worldwide and cemented his status as one of the best-selling artists of all time. He has achieved eight Hot 100 number one singles and 18 Hot 100 top ten singles.

Beyond his achievements as a solo artist, Usher has also made waves as an actor, businessman, dancer, songwriter, and philanthropist. He is currently a coach on the hit TV show “The Voice” and just last year launched his Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Usher’s electrifying Super Bowl halftime show performance introduced him to a new generation of fans. Backed by an army of dancers, he ran through his catalog of hits including “Yeah!”, “U Don’t Have to Call,” “Love in This Club,” “U Got It Bad,” and more.

Capping off the epic set, Usher made a symbolic statement by singing his inspirational anthem “Without You” on top of the NFL shield at midfield.

The overall vibes from Usher’s wedding weekend were clearly joyous and celebratory. After the performance of his life, he chose the perfect way to commemorate the occasion by making things officially permanent with his “best friend” and the mother of his two youngest children, Jenn Goicoechea.
