Joining these culinary mavericks is The Compound in Santa Fe, New Mexico, a restaurant renowned for its seamless blend of Southwestern and global influences. Langbaan in Portland, Oregon, known for its exquisite Thai tasting menu, and Vestige in Ocean Springs, Mississippi, celebrated for its refined Southern fare, round out this esteemed group of finalists.

In the Outstanding Chef category, the finalists represent a diverse array of culinary backgrounds and creative visions. Sarah Minnick of Lovely’s Fifty Fifty in Portland, Oregon, and Dean Neff of Seabird in Wilmington, North Carolina, have garnered widespread acclaim for their innovative approaches to modern American cuisine.

Michael Rafidi, the visionary behind Albi in Washington, D.C., has earned recognition for his masterful blending of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean flavors, while Renee Touponce of The Port of Call in Mystic, Connecticut, has garnered praise for her commitment to locally sourced, seasonal ingredients.

Rounding out the Outstanding Chef finalists is David Uygur of Lucia in Dallas, Texas, whose sophisticated Italian cuisine has captured the hearts and palates of discerning diners.

The Emerging Chef category celebrates the rising stars of the culinary world, showcasing the talent and creativity of those who are redefining the boundaries of gastronomy. Among the finalists is Fariyal Abdullahi, the executive chef at Hav & Mar in New York City. After earning a degree in psychology, Abdullahi embarked on a remarkable journey that led her to the Culinary Institute of America and the renowned Noma in Copenhagen, ultimately finding her calling at Chef Marcus Samuelsson’s seafood-focused restaurant.

Joining Abdullahi is Masako Morishita, the chef behind Perry’s in Washington, D.C. Morishita’s path to the kitchen was equally unconventional, having moved to the nation’s capital to pursue a career as a cheerleader for the Washington Commanders before discovering her passion for Japanese comfort food.

The Best New Restaurant category showcases the most promising culinary newcomers, celebrating the innovative concepts and bold flavors that have captivated diners across the country. Among the finalists is Dakar NOLA in New Orleans, where Chef Serigne Mbaye crafts a modern Senegalese tasting menu that seamlessly blends the flavors of New Orleans with his West African roots.

Other notable finalists in this category include Bar Bacetto in Waitsburg, Washington, Barbs-B-Q in Lockhart, Texas, Chez Noir in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, and Comfort Kitchen in Dorchester, Massachusetts.

In the Outstanding Bakery category, finalists include The Burque Bakehouse in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Gusto Bread in Long Beach, California, and JinJu Patisserie in Portland, Oregon.

The Outstanding Hospitality category celebrates the establishments that have mastered the art of exceptional service and welcoming atmospheres. Finalists in this prestigious category include Crawford and Son in Raleigh, North Carolina, Gemma in Dallas, Texas, and Lula Cafe in Chicago, Illinois.

The Outstanding Wine and Other Beverages Program finalists highlight the establishments that have curated exceptional beverage programs, elevating the dining experience to new heights. Among the contenders are Lula Drake Wine Parlour in Columbia, South Carolina, The Morris in San Francisco, California, and Tail Up Goat in Washington, D.C.

The Outstanding Bar category recognizes the establishments that have redefined the art of craft cocktails and elevated the bar experience. Finalists include Barr Hill Cocktail Bar in Montpelier, Vermont, Clavel Mezcaleria in Baltimore, Maryland, and Jewel of the South in New Orleans, Louisiana.
