Jason Kelce had to rein in his younger brother Travis this week over remarks that set the internet ablaze with speculation that Travis Kelce might be preparing to propose to his girlfriend, pop megastar Taylor Swift.
The comments in question came during the latest episode of the “New Heights” podcast hosted by the Kelce brothers. As the tight end siblings bantered about the towering 7’4″ frame of potential NBA draft pick Victor Wembanyama from France, Travis offered an analogy that raised eyebrows.
“You can’t tell me that dude wasn’t made in a fing lab over there in France. Lab-grown diamonds, that’s a lab-grown fing NBA player,” Travis said. He then added cryptically, “Can’t wait ’til I f***in’ make one.”
It was unclear whether the Kansas City Chiefs star was referring to creating a diamond or a baby when he made the remark. But the internet quickly began buzzing about the possibility that Travis had hinted at plans to propose to his girlfriend of less than a year, Taylor Swift.
Jason, the elder Kelce brother who plays center for the Philadelphia Eagles, sensed the potential for the remarks to be misconstrued and swiftly shut down the conversation.
