In a shocking act of violence, Leonid Volkov, a top strategist and close ally of the late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, was viciously attacked near his home in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius on Tuesday. The brazen assault has drawn international condemnation and reignited concerns over the safety of those challenging the Kremlin’s authoritarian regime.
The Attack
According to Lithuanian police reports, an unknown assailant ambushed Volkov as he arrived at his Vilnius residence by car.
