LAS VEGAS – LG Electronics announced it will unveil its latest innovation, the CineBeam 4K LED projector, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next month. Dubbed the “Qube,” the sleek device stands out for its portable design and unique rotating handle.

Weighing only 3 pounds, the Qube aims to provide the big screen experience in a petite package. “It’s one of the smallest 4K projectors out there,” said LG’s head of marketing, John Smith. “The minimalist, square shape can sit unobtrusively in any room.”

But the most eye-catching aspect is the 360-degree rotatable crank handle on top. “It’s there for easy adjustment and placement,” explained Smith. “Consumers can pick it up and point it exactly where they want.” The uncommon handle gives off a charming retro vibe as well.

Under the stylish hood, the Qube promises premium performance with 4K UHD resolution up to 120 inches across. The advanced laser technology and 450,000:1 contrast ratio ensure sharp, vibrant images that can compete with standard TVs. An anti-glare coating aims to improve visibility even in ambient light.

The smart software is equally appealing, powered by LG’s latest webOS platform. “It’s simple to set up and navigate,” said Smith. The interface provides quick access to all popular streaming apps like Netflix, Hulu, Disney+ and more. LG also packed in some bonus features, like video calling and screen mirroring capabilities.

One novel function is the image-mapping tool, which analyzes a room’s dimensions to overlay custom images onto walls and furniture. “You can turn your living room into a convincing planetarium or forest in seconds,” explained Smith. Auto brightness adjustment also optimizes picture quality for any environment.

LG has not announced exact pricing or availability yet. But the intriguing CineBeam Qube 4K projector will take center stage at CES 2024 next month. With its lightweight portability and rotating handle, LG hopes it will stand out from competitors as a quirky yet powerful home theater option.

The company’s previous CineBeam models have retailed for $1,000 to $3,500. So consumers can likely expect the newest Qube to land in that range when it hits shelves later this year. Those interested can get a first look at CES in Las Vegas from January 7-10.
